Autumn School
Molecular Simulations: Concepts & Methods
Ioannina University
24-26 September 2026

This intensive school aims to provide a foundational yet research-oriented overview of molecular simulation methods, with a strong emphasis on Soft Condensed Matter and Materials Science.
Participants will gain deep insights into basic modeling ideas and diverse system representations — ranging from first principles and all-atom models to coarse-grained approaches. The program balances classic methodologies like Molecular Dynamics and Monte Carlo sampling with modern, emerging techniques such as machine learning. The speakers are recognized experts in their fields.
This is a special satellite event celebrating the awarding of honorary doctorate to Doros Theodorou by the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina.
Target audience: senior undergraduate students, graduate students, PhD candidates, and early-career young postdocs in Physics, Chemistry, theoretical and computational Materials Science, and Engineering.
Certificate of attendance will be provided to all participants
There is no registration fee
The event is co-organized by the:
Department of Physics of the University of Ioannina (UOI) and the
Theoretical and Physical Chemistry Institute of the National Hellenic Research Foundation (NHRF).
